Welcome to Kindred Studio. These Terms of Use ("Terms") describe the rules and guidelines for using our website, services, and studio space. By accessing our website or using our services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our website or services.

ABOUT OUR SERVICES

Kindred Studio is a creative community space and event venue located in San Francisco's Mission District. We offer workshops, community events, venue rentals, markets, and related programming. Workshops are led by both Kindred Studio staff and independent contractor instructors.

RESERVATIONS AND PAYMENT

Spots for workshops and events are limited. All guests must reserve their spot in advance through our website. Full payment is required at the time of reservation. Prices listed on our website are subject to change, but changes will not affect confirmed bookings.

All payments are processed through our third-party payment providers.

CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS

Workshops and Events

Cancellations made 7 or more days before your scheduled booking will receive a full refund or credit toward a future event. Cancellations made less than 7 days before the event are non-refundable. No refunds will be issued for no-shows, late arrivals, or unused portions of booked time.

If Kindred Studio must cancel a workshop or event due to unforeseen circumstances, a full refund or credit will be issued. We will make reasonable efforts to notify registered participants as soon as possible.

Venue Rentals

Cancellation and refund terms for venue rentals are governed by the individual rental agreement.

NO-SHOW POLICY

If you do not attend your scheduled booking without prior notice, you will be considered a no-show. No-shows may result in being blocked from making future reservations. This helps us ensure availability for guests who are committed to attending.

AGE REQUIREMENTS

All guests must be 16 years or older to attend workshops. We are unable to accommodate younger guests or children at this time.

ARRIVAL TIME

Please arrive on time to allow for a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone. If you are running late, please contact us. Late arrivals may result in reduced session time.

STUDIO ETIQUETTE

Kindred Studio is committed to fostering a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful community. By attending our events or using our space, you agree to the following:

- Treat all guests, staff, instructors, and vendors with respect and courtesy.

- Clean up your work area before leaving.

- Only registered guests may participate in workshops. Please do not bring unregistered guests without prior approval.

- Kindred Studio is an alcohol-free space. No alcohol is permitted on the premises during our events unless otherwise specified for private rentals with prior written approval.

- Do not engage in behavior that is disruptive, discriminatory, harassing, or threatening.

- Follow all instructions from Kindred Studio staff regarding the use of the space, equipment, and materials.

We reserve the right to remove any individual from our events or space who violates these guidelines, without refund.

PERSONAL BELONGINGS

Guests are responsible for their personal items. Kindred Studio is not liable for lost, damaged, or stolen belongings.

PHOTOGRAPHY AND MEDIA

By attending events at Kindred Studio, you consent to being photographed, filmed, or recorded for promotional, marketing, and social media purposes. If you do not wish to be photographed, please notify a staff member upon arrival. See our Privacy Policy for information on how to request removal of your image.

ASSUMPTION OF RISK

Participation in workshops, events, and activities at Kindred Studio is voluntary. Some activities may involve the use of tools, materials, or techniques that carry inherent risks. By participating, you acknowledge and assume all risks associated with your participation. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to release and hold harmless Kindred Studio, its owners, employees, contractors, and instructors from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your participation, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct.

INDEPENDENT CONTRACTORS

Instructors and workshop leaders at Kindred Studio operate as independent contractors. They are not employees or agents of Kindred Studio. While we carefully select our instructors, we are not responsible for the specific content, opinions, or advice provided by independent instructors during their workshops.

VENUE RENTALS

Venue rental bookings are subject to a separate rental agreement. Rental terms, including pricing, duration, permitted use, capacity limits, and setup or cleanup responsibilities, will be outlined in that agreement. Guests and renters are responsible for treating our space, furniture, equipment, and materials with care. You may be held financially responsible for any damage caused by negligence or misuse.

VENDOR PARTICIPATION

Vendors participating in Kindred Studio markets or pop-up events are subject to a separate vendor agreement. Kindred Studio reserves the right to approve or decline vendor applications at our discretion.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

All content on the Kindred Studio website, including text, images, graphics, logos, and design elements, is the property of Kindred Studio or its content creators and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or use any content without our prior written consent.

Workshop materials, curricula, and techniques shared by instructors are the intellectual property of the respective instructors or Kindred Studio and may not be reproduced or used for commercial purposes without permission.

WEBSITE USE

You agree to use our website for lawful purposes only. You may not attempt to interfere with the proper functioning of the website, introduce malicious software, or access areas of the website that are not intended for public use. Our website may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content or practices of those sites.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kindred Studio, its owners, employees, and contractors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our website, attendance at our events, or use of our services. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim.

GOVERNING LAW

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts located in San Francisco County, California.

CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of our website or services after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
